The layout
The JL Wrangler Forums primer describes the JL front as a solid axle with control arms, a track bar, a drag link and a tie rod. EVO Manufacturing says that after a lift, the track bar and drag link should be close to parallel to limit bump steer.
Inspect before you buy
Northridge4x4's front-end checklist covers parts like the track bar, tie rod ends and ball joints. Big tires add load, and many owners move to heavier tie rods and drag links. Compare them using materials and joints.
Older Jeeps and classic Mopar steering are covered at moparsteering.com.
