What it does and doesn't do
Offroad.net calls a stabilizer a damper that eases bump-steer kick and helps with big tires, but says it won't fix worn or loose parts. MotorTrend makes the same point about death wobble: a new stabilizer can mask the symptom while the cause (often a track bar or worn joints) stays.
What to compare
- Single vs dual damper, and whether your tires and use need more damping.
- Mount and clamp fit on your tie rod diameter.
- Clearance at full lock and full travel.
- Shaft and body orientation as the maker shows.
Questions
Will a new stabilizer stop death wobble?
Usually it only hides it. Inspect the track bar, joints, ball joints and wheel bearings, and fix what is worn.
